Neomycin and polymyxin B are antibiotics that fight bacteria. Cortisporin Otic (for the ears) is a combination medicine used to treat outer ear infections caused by bacteria. This medicine is not for use in treating an inner ear infection. Cortisporin Otic may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

Get emergency medical help if you have any of these signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficult breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Can I use cortisporin otic If I have a hole in my ear?
You should not use Cortisporin Otic if you have a hole in your ear drum (ruptured ear drum), or an ear infection caused by chickenpox, or herpes infection. You should not use this medicine if you are allergic to hydrocortisone, neomycin, or polymyxin B, or if you have: an ear infection caused by chickenpox, or herpes infection (simplex or zoster).
What are the side effects of cortisporin otic?

What is cortisporin TC otic used for?
Cortisporin®TC Otic is indicated for the treatment of superficial bacterial infections of the external auditory canal, caused by organisms susceptible to the action of the antibiotics; and for the treatment of infections of mastoidectomy and fenestration cavities, caused by organisms susceptible to the antibiotics.
What if I am allergic to cortisporin (neomycin & hydrocortisone otic solution)?
If you are allergic to Cortisporin ( neomycin, polymyxin B, and hydrocortisone otic solution); any part of Cortisporin (neomycin, polymyxin B, and hydrocortisone otic solution); or any other drugs, foods, or substances. Tell your doctor about the allergy and what signs you had.
