Tobramycin is an antibiotic that fights bacteria. Tobrex (for the eyes) is used to treat bacterial infections of the eyes. Tobrex will not treat a viral or fungal infection of the eye. Tobrex is for use in treating only bacterial infections. Tobrex may also be used for purposes not listed in this medication guide.

What is Tobrex eye ointment?

Tobrex Eye Ointment comes in a 3.5 g aluminium tube and plastic cap. The active ingredient in Tobrex Eye Drops is tobramycin 3.0 mg in 1 mL (0.3%). Tobrex Eye Drops also contain: purified water. The pH range of Tobrex Eye Drops is between 7.0 and 8.0. The active ingredient in Tobrex Eye Ointment is tobramycin 3 mg in 1 g (0.3).

What are the excipients of Tobrex (tobramycin) eye drops & ointment?
