What is population ageing?
While this shift in distribution of a country's population towards older ages – known as population ageing – started in high-income countries (for example in Japan 30% of the population is already over 60 years old), it is now low- and middle-income countries that are experiencing the greatest change.
Where can I find information about aged care services?
Visit the My Aged Care website to find information about how to access aged care services. You can apply for an assessment online and search for local aged care providers that meet your needs. Where does aging take place?
Aging takes place in a cell, an organ, or the total organism with the passage of time. It is a process that goes on over the entire adult life span of any living thing. Gerontology, the study of the aging process, is devoted to the understanding and control of all factors contributing to the finitude of individual life.
