ART is recommended for everyone who has HIV. ART cannot cure HIV, but HIV medicines help people with HIV live longer, healthier lives. ART also reduces the risk of HIV transmission.

But there are many services and resources for people with HIV. Most HIV / AIDS clinics have social workers, counselors or nurses who can help you or put you in touch with people who can help you. Arrange transportation to and from medical appointments. Help with housing and child care. Assist with employment and legal issues.

There are many HIV treatments available. Your doctor can help you find the right one for you. Healthy eating and exercising offer benefits that can help you maintain good physical and mental health. Also, this will help your immune system fight off infections so you can live your best life.

You may want technical information, physical support, or someone to talk to — a counsellor or peer support worker. Remember, no problem is too big or small. Volunteers provide one-to-one emotional support for people living with HIV, their partners, families and friends. Referrals into counselling & professional support
