How does Victrelis work?
The active substance in Victrelis, boceprevir, is a protease inhibitor. It blocks an enzyme called HCV NS3 protease, which is found on the hepatitis C virus of the type 1 genotype and is involved in the virus’s replication.
What color is Victrelis?
VICTRELIS 200 mg Capsules, red-colored cap with the Merck logo printed in yellow ink, and a yellow- colored body with “314” printed in red ink. Contraindications to peginterferon alfa and ribavirin also apply to VICTRELIS combination treatment.
Can Victrelis be used as a monotherapy?
(1) VICTRELIS must not be used as a monotherapy. (1) 800 mg administered orally three times daily (every 7 - 9 hours) with food (a meal or light snack).
