The common cold is a viral infection . It's one of the most common illnesses people get. Symptoms include stuffy or runny nose, sore throat, tiredness, and sometimes a mild fever and go away on their own within 4 to 10 days

The common cold is actually a viral infection in your upper respiratory tract. A cold can be caused by more than 200 viruses. The most common are rhinoviruses. These viruses are easily spread from person to person or surface to surface. Many of these viruses can live on surfaces for hours, even days.
What are the symptoms of a cold?
The viruses that cause colds are spread by sneezing, coughing and hand contact. loss of appetite and, sometimes, nausea and vomiting. The actual symptoms will vary from person to person and from illness to illness. Usually, the symptoms will last from a few days to a week or more, and you recover fully without any ongoing problems.
